MY STORY
Never Stop Moving
"Ever since I was able to walk, I was dancing. Growing up I took lessons in my neighborhood ballroom dance studio but I fell in love with dance much later, when I was at my first regional ballroom competition. I will always remember that feeling. It is what enabled me to have such an exciting and rewarding career."
The origin
His teaching career began quite early, at 15. Perhaps worth noticing, that Dmitry comes from 3 generations of sport and dance coaches. He followed the footsteps of his family and got his Masters Degree in Sports and Ballroom Dance Education.
Dmitry Nikolaev is registered professional with National Dance Council of America, and certified by Dance Vision.

In my own words
Love of what I do
Its been many years since I made my first steps as a dancer. But I still love it! I love to talk about it, teach it, discus all aspects of it. Even so I retired from competitive ballroom dance, I still closely in it, through my online show - Ballroom BackStage.
As teenagers my friends and I spends days on end in the ballroom, practicing, learning , polishing our skills. Coming from very poor neighborhood, competitive dancing showed me the world. As an athlete I travelled all over the world. I've seen different countries and cultures.
You know when you love something and passionate about it. Long days of practice were joy, big competitions made me feel a part of something. And representing my country for 11 years on World and European championships made me responsible for how world sees my culture. By birth I am Belorussian , now I am a proud citizen of USA.
Sharing my knowledge was my passions since I have started this dance journey. I won my first regional and nationals at 14. That attracted attention and I was asked to teach my first lesson at 15, at 17 I taught lectures and seminars.
